i vaguely remember that if the 3rd brake light is out, then CC might not work. same for clutch pedal switch, if you're manual.
might check to see if the clockspring or the buttons themselves are at...

i had to take the sawzall to the stabilizer bar end links too lol!
the LCA bushings on my ranger squeak. so did the ball joints before i replaced them

something that popped up in my mind is ball joints... not that you necessarily need to change them, but it would be good for you to check...

oh, does it stumble right after cruising at constant speed (low throttle input)? if the egr valve is hanging open, it'll starve you of air. from the ****pit, it feels just like loss of fuel...

ah, i gotcha. well, the computer is running in open loop until operating temperature, and then it starts reading closed loop from all the sensors feeding in data. so maybe a MAF problem?

oh i'm sure you did fine installing the pump, i was thinking more along the lines of a bad fill-up or just atmospheric humidity taking a toll. but if the filter was clean, then that's certainly not...
