Re: Need advice on shocks

There's no answer to that question because one part can be used on several different models spanning decades. Part numbers are based on when the part was originally designed, what it was originally...

Re: Fixing To Remove Throttle Body For Cleaning - What Is Best Solvent?

Just a heads up, ford puts teflon coatings on their throttle bodies. Using anything but 'coating safe throttle body cleaner' can remove the coating and cause more issues. If you screw up the coating...

Re: Rancho Shocks

Shocks don't lift a vehicle. When they say 1.5-2.5" they mean the shocks will work with a lift of that size, but they wont actually change anything.

Re: Automatic transmission friction/spinning noise

You have a 5r44e. The 5r55e only came in the 4.0 trucks. It is an IDENTICAL transmission to the 44e except for some minor HD parts to handle the extra tourqe of the 4.0. All the parts are 100%...

Re: More High Idle

It's not at all uncommon for aftermarket electronic parts to be D.O.A even in multiples. Always use ford or oem stuff whenever possible when dealing with electronic valves, sensors, etc. Or at least...

Re: Advise for Rebuilding Front Suspension 2000 2wd

A slight word of caution on replacing the springs. Ford put several different coil springs in depending on the trucks setup. For example a short bed, regular cab, 2.3 liter has softer springs than a...

Re: Oil Leak on Top Driver Side of Engine

Well... Expert details not withstanding, you blew up or severely overheated your power steering pump. The "white thing" is the reservoir for the power steering fluid. It either ruptured or boiled...

Re: Sell My 1994 Ranger?

You never know. Like I said, lots of people like rangers for projects like turning them into pre-runners or drag trucks. The guy who left the note might see your truck as the perfect gem to build his...

Re: Sell My 1994 Ranger?

Well by the sounds of it your truck isn't worth much if anything more than scrap unless you plan on being really shady to the person your selling it to. There's 3 things I do in these situations.

Re: Auto Tran compatubility

+1. It's the same essential trans but the 94 is a 4 speed and 01 is a 5 speed. the 01 uses the computer to engage the overdrive twice to gain the extra gear. The 01 wont run on the 94 computer. And...

Re: 2001 ford expedition

Yes they were a stock option in the expedition. They had either a 4.6 or 5.4

Re: 2001 ford expedition

Unless you plan on doing alot of custom fabricating, no the 4.6 will not fit. It is a much wider engine than the 5.0's that are sometimes swapped from explorers. Neither the 4.6 or 5.0 were ever...

Re: Headlight and Brake questions

+1. Easy to do but very complicated to explain. Lots of good you tube vids on how to do it. Only tools needed are a jack, jack stands, a brake spoon is prefered but a flat tip screw driver works...

Re: Headlight and Brake questions

Verify fuse #12 under the hood and fuse #33 in the cab. If those are fine which you said they are move on to testing the headlight switch itself. High beams operate through the turn signal multi...

Re: What engine sensor is this?

Cylinder head temp sensor. (Not to be confused with a regular coolant sensor or sender) Its the only sensor between plug 2 and 3 on a duratec. Your now the second person in a month to have an issue...

Re: Wire Identification 2002 Ford Ranger 4cyl

Everything related to that black plastic ball thing are AC and heat controls. Nothing else. It stores engine vacuum to power the vent controls.

The washer pump is electric so the only lines from...

Re: Oil pressure gauge

I always wondered why they didn't just use something like a rheostat switch that could at least read pressure in vauge incriments instead of putting a guage on a switch made for an on/off idiot...

Re: F150 is really big

Is it just me or are all the trucks starting to just blend together... Toyota, dodge, and ford all look like the same guy designed them. I was always a dodge truck fan back in the 80's and 90's. I...

Re: Help With Dust Caps

No need for junkyard or dealer... Dorman makes them, they are in the "Dorman HELP!" section of almost any auto parts store for about $3.50 each. Usually with the cotter pins and other random oddball...

Re: F150 is really big

The price is gonna be insane considering they are only offering it as a quad cab. There wont be a budget bar bones fleet option like the original ranger. My 09 was less than 14k brand new, the base...

Re: Oil pressure gauge

The important thing is you took proper precaution and ignored it for 5 hours of driving. :congrats:

What engine and how many miles are on it? Are you using the correct weight oil? Did the issue...
