i've done well with Moog for my ranger's ball joints & bushings and such. But they sure get a bad rap on other vehicles, or at least on other forums lol

just curious, why are you replacing the springs? and are you actually replacing the whole LCA?

it was bought used, not sure @ what mileage. but since he's had it, it's been well taken care of. i do believe he's been having a shop change the oil for him though...
i'll pass along the oil...

i believe the first couple years of the 2.3 duratec came stock with that crazy little assembly. Then i guess they realized it sucked and quit putting it on lol, kinda like the intake runners

i agree about the rear brakes, i was very very pleased with how much better both dynamic & park braking was with all new drums, shoes, cylinders, hardware, and fresh fluid. i barely spend over $100...

in oklahoma, i've been lucky enough to just show up with parts & supplies receipts proving that it was inoperable during that time to avoid penalties. not sure how kalifornia works.

the O2 sensor and the DPFE hoses are relatively close to one another, wonder if a mouse went to town on those hoses and the wires for the O2 lol

might also try shooting some penetrating oil from each side of the parking brake cable where it goes in the cover/sheathing/whatever its called. like how we used to free up the throttle cable on the...

welcome! do you have a multimeter? i'd probe system to see if the alt is putting out voltage pretty quick. i'd hate to see the batter ruin cause of a bad alt.

on your parking brake sticking......

so is there a knock sensor that might be sensing a rod knock pulse and altering timing, making it sound like a misfire? might that be what we were hearing at around 2500rpm?

do you know if can you do the bottom end by removing the oil pan, or do you gotta pull motor out?
