Re: 2019 Ranger configurator

I don't get the high priced models. The thing is a truck. It hauls stuff and gets dirty inside and out. Seats get ripped, headliners poked and punctured. I know most of my friends that have the...

Re: Source for Rubber bed mat

My brother in law has a heavy mat in the bed of his truck and the bed is rusting out due to water getting trapped under it. Lives in Michigan and power washes the truck during the winter at the diy...

Re: New to the forum

Komac, good to have you here. Last December I picked up my first Ranger, and it seems it is much like yours. A basic 2.3 liter 5 speed work truck. Not the best on fuel, however it gets used to haul...

Re: Ford Focus Small Truck

I had a Courier and it was perfect for my needs at that time. Today I have an 09 Ranger and it is the correct size for my needs at this time. Perhaps in the future I will not need the bed size of my...

Re: Greetings from MO

I can only hope for that kind of durability! Most equipment when used properly and cared for diligently will outlast it's owners will to keep it. Keep on truckin'!

Re: Ridiculous dealer offer for my 06 Ranger Sport

I think you mean "stealers". Sold Chevy's once right out of school. Learned the tricks of the trade and walked away a wiser man.

Re: another new guy needing help

That is weird, however it sounds like a slave cylinder issue. Talk to a mechanic about it. Prefer an older mech that has been around the block a few times. Experience pays dividends.

Re: Should I Buy This Ranger?

Old is old. Buy at a price in accordance with the age of the vehicle. Mileage is not something I consider valuable, and it won't entice me to pay a premium. Age of the vehicle is something that I...

Re: Painting Cost

A friend of mine is retired from the body biz and he agrees that 5k is the start point for a pro level repaint. High quality work and materials is expensive. Of course his biz was all top end stuff,...

Re: Get better mpg with A/T tires

Drive like a blind granny. That is what I have had to do. Went from 17mpg to 25-28 mpg. 4 banger with manual trans and stock wheels.

Re: Another FNG

Big_John, in December I picked up an 09 plain Jane Ranger just like yours except it has a manual tranny and a impossible to use Pioneer radio. First truck in over 30 years and I find myself using it...

Re: Water Pump

Highly unlikely it was damaged with a coolant system flush and fill. Just a coincidence is my bet. Never had luck with rebuilt pumps and alts. Costs a heck of a lot more to go OEM, however they last...

Re: Wishful thinking!

dvrich, you are right about that. The Ranger of old is the last of them. Can't understand why small pickups are no longer as popular as they were. I find mine very useful and convenient. Much...

Re: Other ranger forums

Facebook will be losing me soon. Every website I go to looking for goods shows up on my news feed as an add after I visit the website. Don't want them knowing anymore about what I do.

Re: 2011 Ford Ranger xlt

Big families are great! I grew up in one myself. When we started having children it became apparent that someone would need to stay home to take care of the kids so we devised a day/night shift. She...

Waterlooboy2hp I like your solution. What model year Marquis is the radio from? Looks like it belongs there.

Re: Simple Radio?

Yes, God does have a wild sense of humor. Guess I am burned out on the technical side of life. Was a time when it made sense, now it simply complicates it because it has gone too far and the...

Re: Simple Radio?

To effectively use it, yes, the remote must be used. Really stupid idea from where I sit. I have the push buttons memorized on my wife's car and don't need to look at the thing when making...

Simple Radio?

The 2009 Ranger I picked up has a Bluetooth ready Pioneer radio in it and comes with a remote. Is there a simple, old school radio that doesn't require a rocket scientist level of knowledge to figure...

Re: 1997 2.3l runs rich no codes - FPR or leaky injector?

Have always been told that unburned fuel after it goes through the Cat smells like rotten eggs, not raw fuel.

Hard to Start After Short Run Time

2009 2.3L manual tranny. After a quick run to the store 1.5 miles away the truck cranks over for a longer time to restart. If I run an errand 5 miles away it fires right up when I come out of the...
