Re: Helping my son buy his first Ranger

No problem.

You can buy the bodylift with bumper brackets that lift the bumper up 3” to match the body. You’ll either have to modify the front tow hooks, get rid of them, or cut the front...

Re: Helping my son buy his first Ranger

Your only lift options for the torsion bar 4wds are adjusting the torsion bars, the 4” superlift drop bracket kit, or a 3” body lift.

I’ve never personally installed a body lift, but the process...

Re: 01 Edge T-Bar upgrade from “B” to “1”

Yep. The torsion bars themselves never changed in design (other than the spring rates). The torsion keys, however, did change in 2008.

Re: Lift kit recommendations for a 2002 ranger edge plus 4x4 3.0

I do. Should be in the project logs section, “jimmyspy’s 02 4x4”

Re: Lift kit recommendations for a 2002 ranger edge plus 4x4 3.0

You do bring up a good pint with the torsion bar drop brackets. They are the biggest draw back (other than price) to the superlift kit, and really hurt the break-over clearance (although it’s still...

Re: 04 Ranger XLT 4.0 CV half shaft retaining clip

Which clip are you referring to? And, just clarify, are you working on the passenger side?

Thanks! It’s got plenty of scratches of its own... haha.

The single best thing I’ve done for my ranger is buy a Focus for a daily driver .

I think you’ll be surprised by how...

Re: Lift kit recommendations for a 2002 ranger edge plus 4x4 3.0

No problem! The superlift install is pretty involved, as the front suspension and axel need to be removed from the truck. But, the kits instructions are great and it’s definitely doable. I did...

Re: Lift kit recommendations for a 2002 ranger edge plus 4x4 3.0

The edge/4wd trucks sat 2.5” higher than the 2wd Coil spring trucks.

Keep your eye on Craigslist and the classifieds sections on the various ranger forums, every once in awhile used superlifts...

Re: Lift kit recommendations for a 2002 ranger edge plus 4x4 3.0

Your lift options are pretty limited for the 1998 and up 4x4 Rangers. You’ve basically got 3 choices.

-adjust your torsion bars using your STOCK torsion keys (don’t waste your time or money on...

Re: Open diff what to do?

Any ‘93 and up ranger axle will physically fit. Not sure if there are any differences in how the brake lines and parking brake cables are set up. Fx4 lvl 2 axles are a 31 spline 8.8 and have a larger...

Re: 2011 Ranger 4x4

Welcome to FRF!

Lift options for the 4wd Rangers are pretty limited.

You can adjust the torsion bars for 1-2” of lift. You can also do the “pre key mod”. This involves swapping you torsion...

Re: jimmyspy's '02 4x4

So I was on spring break this past week and got to spend a little time doing truck stuff. I made some decent progress on the bumper project.

Don’t know if I ever posted pictures in here, but I...

Re: Shock replacement

Ahh, that’s more than likely the cause of your issue. You can only safely get 1.5-2” max adjustment out of the front suspension on the torsion bar Rangers. If you push it past that, you start...
