- truck had been downsized, no more pavement princess bu full on work truck.

I have that spare holder on my Ranger, I got bracket made and welded to hitch receiver.

Actually it was extremely easy, had to trim it on front so it would lay flat as Xterra have step on roof. Cut the back of it to make it smaller and drill two holes new holes for wind deflector. Here...

I just ripped plastic completely off so only metal part was left and then welded bolt on top of it. Size came up to be just right. Tap just screwed onto it without any more modyfications.
