Re: Painting Cost

$2500 low end to paint a regular cab Ranger is high....high....high end.
If a body shop told me $4500-$5000 then I would assume they just didn't want to do the job, or they were hitting the Jim...

Re: Painting Cost

The cost of painting the whole truck, including minor body work and proper prep work should be $1500-$2000....maybe more.
That's the cost by a professional shop and not paint can bubba.

Re: Rear Crossmembers

Re: 5.8 in 1985 STX 4X4

Why not a Boss 302....or a Boss 351? Since you are dreaming, what about a 3.5L Ecocboost?

Re: Speed tops out at 90 miles per hour

If you are trying to outrun the cops, you'll need to go way faster than 120 mph.

Re: HVAC control issue

Just because a vacuum line is connected doesn't mean it can't leak. Your truck is 16 years old and lines can dry rot just like tires.

Re: 2011 Ford Ranger 4.0...Power steering fluid Question...

If you only put 1/3 cup of PS fluid into it, don't worry about it.

Re: 2.3l starter issues

Remove the bolt and hit the starter with a dead blow mallet a couple of times.

Re: Tow behind rv

It is advisable to disconnect the rear driveshaft and as for the front, I would think the shaft that is linking the front axle to the transfer case should be disconnected.
It's a PIA.

Re: 2007 Ranger - Passenger Airbag Recall 16S26

I wonder what unplugging the sensor under the seat would do.

Re: 2007 Ranger - Passenger Airbag Recall 16S26

I don't know how but there has to be a way to disconnect the trip sensor which sends a signal to the igniter by the air bag at impact.
I guess the dealers told you that nonsense for liability...

Re: Help! Flex fuel sensor unit. $750 hell no

I guess whoever would like to help you has to guess what year truck and which engine?
I am guessing you have a 2000 with a 3.0 and I looked up the price at Advance Auto Parts and the price was over...

Re: Defroster turns on AC

The A/C compressor runs in defrost and that is normal. The defrost runs like this to keep the windshield from fogging up in winter, fall, spring, and summer.

Re: A/C Compressor Noise, Intermittant

There is a large accumulator filter/drier to prevent liquid from getting to the compressor. That would be a problem on all Rangers used in the north according to your "technician" and it certainly...

Re: 3rd time a charm?

Looks like the squeaky wheel got the grease. Glad it worked out because I read that the air bag manufacturer filed for bankruptcy.
