Re: Programming Keys Using FORScan. Help!

Transceiver doesn't pair with anything. The pats module itself pairs with the PCM, but even if these get switched it should pair during key programming.

Re: Programming Keys Using FORScan. Help!

I was thinking that but because the OP can program any of the 2 keys first, I'm thinking something is going on with the sequence of events or maybe a glitch in forscan.

Re: Programming Keys Using FORScan. Help!

Yeah the fact you can get one key working makes me think you got it.

Re: Programming Keys Using FORScan. Help!

Could be. Got a charger to hook up to it while you are trying to program?

If that doesn't work take your log files and send them to the forscan guys. They can tell you what's going on.

Re: Programming Keys Using FORScan. Help!

Maybe too slow on getting the second key in the ignition? Maybe a timeout if not done fast enough

Re: Made TPMS Pipe Bomb - TPMS light still on

Sensors have to be woke up. They have to be moving to be active, like on a spinning tire.

Re: Auto headlight problem

I know i used 40 amp (probably overkill) relays on my setup. Park lights don't use as much current as the head lights.

What relays are you using?

Re: Auto headlight problem

Just get a dark piece of paper and cover the sensor on the windshield and turn the truck on. If it is dark when the truck is first turned on there is no delay.

Re: Auto headlight problem

You mean Explorer mirror not overhead console I assume.

When the lights are suppose to come on you should have a green indicator light on the mirror to show that it is grounding out the relay. You...

Re: No crank no start. For PATS sake.

A way to test if that wire is broken, pinched, or grounded out is to add a jumper wire from one connector to the other and cut the existing wire (in case it is grounding out).

Could do that just...

Re: Interior light won't turn off

What is the build date? Look in drivers door jam. Ford changed the lock system in March 02.

Re: fuel circuit short blows 20amp fuse

Ok so looking at a 1998 manual the only fuse I can see that would be the one you are talking about is number 9 for fuel pump relay/raps module.

This wire comes out and splits to the relay (in same...

Re: fuel circuit short blows 20amp fuse

Best way to diagnose is to check for continuity between ground and and the load side of the fuse terminal. Set this up on the multimeter and start wiggling wires and look for the continuity to drop....

Re: No crank no start. For PATS sake.

CHeck out the last page:
http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Wd/DownloadPdf?id=29382

IF you have infinite continuity along pin 4 of the transceiver to the PCM then that is a problem.

Re: damaged tranny pump

Just gonna have to take bellhousing off and look at the pump gear. If everything looks fine make sure you use a torque converter to center the pump before tightening it back down. Also check the...

Re: A/C Intermittent Blower Issue

Just get some rubber tubing with the same inner diameter as the outer diameter of the gray line and splice.

The gray line goes into a small plastic block at the firewall under the blower motor....

Fuel ⛽️

Nope. There is no need to use a fuel with a higher octane than recommended. All higher octane fuels do is resist knocking/pinging.

An external transmission cooler would be money spent more...

Re: Two Mysteries About My Truck

Probably not because if they went that far they know to disconnect the driveshaft from the diff. Without the engine running the fluid pump isn't flowing and lubricating the gears. With transmission...

Re: day time lights

You may have the plug for a DRL module on the lower LH (drivers) side of the radiator support. Probably have a dummy plug on it with a push pin to secure it to the frame.

On Canadian vehicles...
