Re: How many miles do you have on your Ranger?

My 91 had 310K on it when I sold him in '11. So probably 330000.

Re: DFCO question

While I do like getting really good mileage (I'm currently getting 30-31 highway, 33-34 with non-ethanol). And yes, that and it's reliability is why I chose the 2.3 manual Ranger, which is still the...

Re: most miles on a duratec 2.3 batter up!!

Coming up on the first 50,000 on my '11. If my first Ranger, which I bought with 98,000 already on it is any indication (see signature below) I have at least 5 more "50k's" to go.

Re: Ford needs to bring back the Ranger!!!

Unfortunately the Ranger isn't even a pickup anymore. It's been turned into a "half-truck"; rear half of a truck bed attached to the front half of an SUV. Useless for anything other than recreational...

Re: Flowmaster?

He's in high school, remember? Image is everything.

Concepts like 'practical' and 'dependable' won't even be comprehendible for another decade at least. :D

Re: 2.0 / 2.3 / 2.5 Specifications

How come it stops at 2009? Are the '10 & '11s the same?

Re: Gas mileage

I regularly got 27-30 highway out of my 91. How heavy is your foot? A very large portion of your mileage is the result of your driving habits.

Minun: How did you ever manage 39? Best I've ever...

Question DFCO question

Does the 2011 2.3L have DFCO (Deceleration Fuel Cut Off)? I'm 90% sure it does but it doesn't hurt to ask. :o

At what RPM (coasting, in gear) does it engage, meaning how fast does the engine have...

Re: Help deciding how to cover the bed

I got package deal when I painted my truck, so I went with Line-X. It still looks great even after 4 years, so I'm getting my money's worth. Whatever you choose don't get another drop in; any dirt...

OK, I'll play. I give the avatar above a 3. No offence meant, but it doesn't really fit this forum.

Question A puzzle for the effinciency experts

Greetings, fellow gas pinchers. I have a quandary for you: I own two Ford vehicles, a 2011 ranger (X-cab) and a 2014 Transit Connect (5 passenger). Both have inline 4 cylinder engines. The Ranger has...

I was. It is even listed in my signature (which you and or he may have turned off, if that can be done here).

Re: How many miles do you have on your Ranger?

Your mechanic is being conservative. I am also a maintenance freak and when I sold my last Ranger it was still running fine (original just about everything) at 310,000 miles.

Re: How many miles do you have on your Ranger?

Don't be. So long as you give it regular maintenance it will last three times that long at least. My '91 has 310,000Mi when I sold it, and the only thing wrong with it was a few cosmetic dents. It...

Re: Engine conversion?

Thanks for the first straight answer, maritime. :ciao:
Addendum: However, I'm not so much concerned with E-85 (A.K.A. "Flex-Fuel") as I am with the very real possibility of the ethanol content of...

Re: Engine conversion?

No, I'm talking about regular gasoline, which you buy at any gas station and is currently being sold with up to 10% ethanol added as require by the EPA. That percentage is bound to go higher, and my...

Question Engine conversion?

My truck can currently take gas with an ethanol content of up to 15%. This is fine for the moment, as regular is currently at only 10% (I even know of one station that still sells 'pure' gas!)....
