Re: Squealing coming from the front of engine bay

Loosen the serpentine belt and try turning the water pump, more likely it than a fan clutch.

Re: Clutch pedal in down position

Looks like its time for a new clutch, pressure plate and disk, along with resurfacing the flywheel, and a new slave cyl.

Re: Clutch pedal in down position

Does I have fluid in the reservore, or maybe a broken spring.

Re: Leaking transmission fluid

Might be a trans cooler line rusted off, but you or somebody will need to roll under it and check things out.

Re: Overheating at Idle, etc

If the radiator was low, and the overflow tank was ok with fluid, check the over flow hose, it might have a hole, or be loose at the rad fitting.

Re: Transmission fluid in the oil?

Lots of old stories about things like that, might work, might not, something to think about, what if a cam lobe is going bad?

Re: New ranger 1998

Check the trans for leaks, and change that oil too.

Re: 3.0 misfiring cylinder 1

Might run a compression check, could be something wrong with the intake valve or seat, could be a valve spring or lifter gone bad, or a lobe off the cam.

Re: Can I swap a older 3.0 into my

Probebly would need to know how old the one is you want to install, but guessing all the fuel system, cam and crank sensors, maby timing cover, along with the coil packs.

Re: 2003 3.0 Manual Leaking trans fuild

Never saw a gasket there, just a light film of RTV.

Re: Clutch won't disengage and can't get into gear

Most times that shiny spot means a high spot, like the only place the clutch disk is touching, the flywheel may be warped.

Re: Using too high of a gear

For the same reason you do when you attempt to push something heavy while running. If you walk you can push it much easier, your engine is the same, overloading is what its called.

Re: Front Gear Ratio

I think all the later 4x4's have the same ratio front and rear, if you can't find a tag on the front one, look at the tag on the rear one.

Re: 1994 M5OD leaks oil from top.

They can leak from the shifter shaft, and the top cover if bolts come loose, also there is a back up switch on the drivers side that may be loose.

Re: Cannot get 95 M50D to shift while running

I'll tell what I know, the input shaft only turns in the pilot bearing when the clutch is held down. If the input shaft has 3/16 or more side to side movement, when the clutch is released, it can...

Re: Front Brakes

If your truck is 2wheel drive, rotors with holes in the center are what you need, rotors with hubs in the center are for 4x4.

Re: 2000 ford ranger 3.0 5speed

Assuming you saying the engine won't turn over means it won't start, so was there anything different on the fuel system and elec plugins, sensors and such between the 2000 and 2003 engines? If there...

Re: Quick question

It should be really firm, but not rock hard, if its really that hard could be a leaking head gasket letting combustion pressure into the cooling system. Check the over flow tank for bubbles coming up...

Re: Bad cv axle?

If you can move the wheel in all directions, most likely the bearing is bad.

Re: Replace O2 Sensor and Now No Power

Replaced the engine or trans oil, if trans, is it full after running for several minutes, as for the 02 sensor, did you plug it back in good, make sure the wires didn't get damaged.

Re: Front gear ratio change

Probebly not as easy as the rear, they have to be set up, and changed the front gear ratio and not matching it with the rear will cause problems.

Re: Where is this oil coming from?

Don't know about your slow start, but the smell is probably from that leaking oil getting on the very hot exhaust pipes. And doing anything to the top of a 4.0 isn't easy.

Re: Where is this oil coming from?

Could be the valve cover, and on the back of the left one, there's pipe connection with a rubber gromlet, could be from there too.

Re: valve rework questions

How thin were the edge of the valves after you cut them, there's a limit, and what about the seats, they need to be ground and trued up also.

Re: 1996 B4000 5-speed questions

Have you checked the fluid level in the master cyl reservore? If its empty, that's one way air can get in, also the master cyl can wear causing air to be sucked in. Could be the clutch is worn out,...
