No it didnt go without water. She shut it down as soon as the hose blew. Thats why I'm surprised it wont start and why I was asking if there is a common problem besides the head issues.

My wife's 2000 ranger (4 liter) blew a heater hose and got hot. I fixed the problem but now the truck won't even try to start. It turns over fine but no start. Is there a common problem that happens...

Yup, a leak down is definitely in order. Because it doesn't burn oil, my sense is that it is not rings. Also I need to do a better vacuum test. Anybody have some pointers on how best to do that?...

fuel pressure is good. 66lbs. Compression, not so good. #1- 95, #2- 100, #3- 110, #4- 95, #5 and #6 100. Still have the misfire.:(
