Use to have the same mentality however, the progressive loss of power, damage as you're indicating, and the fact that as I run premium fuel in my 351K+ 93' 4.0L is I get on average about 14-17 miles...

negative, that can be done in the truck. Whoever said that is lying to charge more. And a refurbished engine is gonna be more than 4 times that on average+ labor. so your talking a minimum of $1800...

Not saying you may be incapable but a "fender bender" doesn't deploy airbags.... and a shop/insurance will certainly look at...

That might depend on their process. If they didnt magna-flux the block and go through it and they (like most shops due) slapped new head gaskets on it and got you for a set of new heads.. than sadly...
