Bolt pattern should be the same, center hole might be bigger on the 4x4 wheels, and are both trucks disk or drum brakes?

Re: Long storie short 2.0 2.3 bell housing bolt patterns
2.0 and 2.3 look exactually the same, except for the different exhaust manafold and one barrel carb, but with a 2.0 in a 4x4, you might not get out of 3rd gear with hubs locked in.

There is a fuel pump cut off under the mat or behind the kick panel on the passenger side, might check that.

The right side head already has two cyl's down by 20 lbs, all the valves and seats are going to be rough and pitted, the seats are going to be pounded out too. Spend a little money and do it right, a...

One little led bulb on the controler would take years to drain a battery.

Re: Trailer brake 12v always hot
I think plug and play has to be ordered when new, but what are you working on? if you're talking about one lug being hot at the bumper plugin, it's for a trailer with aux lights that you can turn off...

Some rangers used heavy cast metal type I beams, some used stamped steel ones, might be something to do with which one you have.

Re: 3.0L -- Confusing Instructions on Camshaft Position Sensor install
Do you have the old CPS, if so you will see a half moon mark where the hold down washer contacted it holding it to the engine. That will give you an idea at what angle the CPS, the back cap on top...

Roll under it from the drivers side and see if he just popped the cable off the ball stud, or used cable cutters and cut it off, or dropped the drive shaft.

Re: 3.0 to 4.0 swap...doable?
The 3.0 trans won't bolt to the 4.0 engine, if you get a 4.0 manual, guessing you'd need a 4.0 flywheel, might have to get a computer for a 4.0 and manual, like you say, it won't be a plug and play.

Re: Is this a vaccuum line? What is it? Replacement?
If the lines were hooked to the intake and not plugged, nothing would stay in them, as vacum would suck it into the engine.

Re: Is this a vaccuum line? What is it? Replacement?
That looks like the main vacum line, it comes from the intake manifold, goes to a vacum canister, then to inside the cab for heater controls. The vacum can could be broken, that would cause a poor...

Re: no MFG bypass safety hole on coolant temp gauge
I wouldn't think that size hole would let much coolant through as a safety feachture, might be it's there to help bleed out air after a coolant or thermostat change.

Re: Rough idle
All cylinders should have a close reading, if one is considerably lower, that would be cause for missfire and bad running.

Re: 2000 3.0 blew up
Most likley getting it that hot the heads are cracked, but you gotta pull them to check the gaskets, so you can have them checked for cracks and warped, and have a look at the cylinder condition.
