Re: regearing question

You'll find your gear ratio on your axle tag or door code. If I can find the picture I've got to read the door tag, I'll post it. Changing the gear is best left to professionals or someone who's done...

Re: What lift do you recommend?

Maxtrac 4" lift spindles and shackles, and you may need front 2" lift coils as well. The 4" kit is around 400, and the coils I believe are around 180. You'll also need longer shocks both front and...

Re: 04 raner not charging

If you have the owners manual, it will show you the fuse locations, what size fuse they should be, and what they do. Well, at least my manual does and mines a 2008.

Re: Stuck, broken leaf spring shackle, need quick advice

If you have any tools on you that could complete the job, it's a really simple/easy fix. Otherwise, I wouldn't try to put a u bolt on it and drive it, but that's coming from someone who put gum on...

Re: Stuck, broken leaf spring shackle, need quick advice

Until I saw the picture my advice was going to be to run some bolts through it, you'll be fine. Now, that is no longer an answer. Really, you only have two options, one being what Dirtman said and...

There's the dash, $400 in fiberglass. I also found a set of some 15x10s really cheap way...

Re: Pro touring

Nice! That looks like a great start, you're pretty much already there really. A 4 link would be good paired with adjustable coil overs, to make adjustments and be able to really dial in. What size...

Re: Pro touring

I haven't, but I was once going to go that route with my 2wd. Really, the main things are a drop (lower the better, preferably 4/5 drop), a stiffer front sway bar, and a sway bar kit for the rear. I...

Re: Rear end off center

Check shock mounts, leaf spring hangers, basically all the things that the axle connect to. If you don't see any cracks or bends, then I'm 99% sure youre fine. Mine is the same way if that helps....

Re: Best year 4cyl for highway commuting

I can attest to the open diff and no traction control. If you're going 90% highway, then my 2008 Ranger 2.3l 5speed can handle 70-85 all day long no problem without ever having to downshift to 4th....

Re: which engine oil?

I personally use Pennzoil platinum high mileage full synthetic. Damn that's a mouthful lol. So far it's good, been doing a lot of highway miles and some city, with a lot of racing around on backroads...

Re: Ranger down!

Replacing all of the parts yourself is very manageable, and the only power tool you will likely need is an angle grinder to grind down the rivets on the rear shackle to replace it (you could use a...

Re: Instant intense wobble- camber off??

By adding the bolts you might have messed up the toe as well on the side with the adjustable. Good idea of taking them out and replacing them. That's all I can guess. You could also check to make...

Well, what do you think of her situation? Did she get screwed, or is camber not included on a 2 wheel alignment?

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Sounds like you need to find a new alignment shop...or maybe that's normal, and in Small Town, Tx (not really a city I don't think, just saying small towns here in general) that's just included

...

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Looks sick!

These are the camber bolts he's talking about. They go in place of the Upper Control Arm bolts. Need 4 bolts total. I need them, and my camber isn't too bad and the inside of my tires...

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Metal work is pretty easy, just measure, measure, and measure again. Welding is pretty easy once you do it once or twice, but takes practice to get some great beads.

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

I would keep the parts that are usable, namely the spindle just in case something catastrophic happens like in a freak accident the spindle breaks you won't be up shit creek without a paddle.
