Re: Cleaning out the garage

FYI, I'm still interested in a 4x2 bezel with the fog light button if you run across one. The V8 swap is underway with a manual shift transfer case, so the switch is about to be meaningless. Thanks!

Re: Cheap auto vacume pulse hub fix

Are you sure it's halfway to unlock and full to lock? For some reason that seems backwards from memory.

Re: Can I run a 215/70/14?

If you run OEM wheels from a Ranger you'd have to modify absolutely nothing.

Re: Can I run a 215/70/14?

Have you considered sourcing a set of used 15" wheels? $225 per tire is insane for a small tire like that.

Re: No fun

You mentioned that in your thread there, but you've been able to post since then and never posted any error you were getting or further explanation of the problem. The site admin also responded in...

Re: 1997 mountaineer 5.0 to 2002 ranger

See if you can find some documentation of the test procedure. I couldn't find anything that confirms the ECU reporting the VIN back to the test equipment. Lots of discussion about concerns that it...

Re: 1997 mountaineer 5.0 to 2002 ranger

Honestly it's probably a non issue. I'd be very surprised if you couldn't get through the test.

Re: 1997 mountaineer 5.0 to 2002 ranger

I can't remember if the crossmember is the same, but as long as you have the complete Mountaineer then the worst case is using the transmission crossmember that's installed behind the 5.0.

A...

Re: Ford Explorer axle swap

No need to swap both axles, just make sure the gearing is the same in your donor axle.

The Explorer axle will be spring under, so you'll have to move spring perches and shock mounts. RuffStuff...

Re: red page

Why reinvent the wheel? There are multiple RBV forums already out there that are run well and heavily populated. TRS, RF, DezertRangers, ExplorerForum, etc.

Re: 98 4x4 blinking lights, List of things to check?

To my knowledge the 4x4 shifting system doesn't know anything about the status of the hubs. All it does is apply a medium (lock) or strong (unlock) vacuum pulse to set their condition.

Do you...

Re: 4x4 wont engage.

What mode have you tried to engage when this happens, i.e. 2wd or 4wd?

For what it's worth, you don't have vacuum hubs on a '93. That was '98 to mid '00 only.

Re: What pins do I need to jump on the diagnostic plug to get DTC’s..?

Re: What pins do I need to jump on the diagnostic plug to get DTC’s..?

Traditionally you'd be looking for voltage pulses on an output pin. EEC-IV had a system of 2 and 3 digit codes (depending on year) that pulsed up to 9 times for each digit with a short pause between...

Not to my knowledge, that was a pre-OBDII technique.

Re: Blower motor speed control switch

I'd grab a meter and check for voltage into the resistor on the leads for each speed setting.

Re: Motor mount problems 97 v8 into 2000

You should be able to use the motor mount plates from an '95-01 Explorer V8, right? Not sure why adapter plates are involved.

Re: Cleaning out the garage

I got a great deal on a sport trac cluster yesterday so I'm good there. However, I need a lid for the center console (from a 2002 trac). If you happen to have a line on one that would be amazing.
