Re: Electric fan conversion using stock 3.0 shroud

Installation isn't difficult and shouldn't take too long. I spent way too much time brainstorming, measuring, making brackets, and wiring. Then again, it works with no issues so it was time well...

Re: Electric fan conversion using stock 3.0 shroud

Good suggestion. I modeled this setup to mimic the factory 2.3 fan shroud. Below is a picture of an aftermarket replacement. Notice the gap and offset. I believe the 2.3 also has an engine-mounted...

Re: Electric fan conversion using stock 3.0 shroud

Re: Electric fan conversion using stock 3.0 shroud

Nice shroud setup! The relative silence is absolutely the biggest benefit in my opinion too. I appreciate the input about the controller. I haven't ruled one out and one close call will likely...

Re: Electric fan conversion using stock 3.0 shroud

Update! I have been living without the stock mechanical fan for over two months now. I'd like to share some observations about the change:

My engine is quiet! I initially did this swap to get...

Electric fan conversion using stock 3.0 shroud

Awhile back I got fed up with the constant leaf blower sounds from my stock 3.0 w/ mechanical fan. The fan spun all the time, hot or cold. It was embarrassingly loud from 1000-2000 rpms. I figured...
