Re: rangerboy101's audio build log

Peel and Seal?

Re: rangerboy101's audio build log

Nice SA-15s. I'm assuming thats a buck design?

Should be loud with subs forward port up both to the ear on the meter should you get on a meter.

Re: down fire box

I've done a few center console builds with downfiring subs (none in rangers before though) and as long as you give yourself enough room between the floor and the bottom of the box, you'll be fine and...

Re: Show Your System

Re: Show Your System

Interesting. I'm too tall to have my seats like that though lol. If I'm seeing correctly the port is on the bottom? Vertical port might work better. Just a "guess" though. Never tried subs up port...

Re: Show Your System

Sure. I've got some other subs to try too(DD2510 and AQ HDC10s along with some borrowed Treo SSi 10s) but these are going in first. Saw you picked up an SA-8. The SA series are a solid subs. I had...

Re: Good shallow mount sub??

In this case, your full size sub most likely did not have enough airspace and with the shallower sub you have a lot less displasement so it sounded better. I kind of agree though. Shallow mount subs...

Re: Good shallow mount sub??

Not a 12 but these are some of the best shallow mounts around IMO. You HAVE to build or have someone build a box though otherwise they will sound horrible. Told my buddy to buy them and he put them...

Re: Ehh Hopefully can answer this?

With a proper size, properly tuned, and properly built ported box will sound just as crisp as a sealed box. Now if we are talking prefab to prefab then yes. Sealed is crisper than ported.
