unless the old one is in bad shape it may be recovered,,, check youtube for instructions for doing it your self,,, i had a local upholstrey shop do mine,,,,

if it is over 3 then it is definetly grounding out,,,,make sure the antenna mount is put together right,,, not shorted out,,,

is that antenna even a cb antenna? 3 foot steel whip is way to short for cb....i think you have a business band antenna,, no good for cb,,,,

well pulled off coil pack on the intake side, used a ohm meter on it and get no readings plug to plug , the 3 pins get one reading of 1.2 and the other open so i am guessing big time here that it is...

well pulled plug on exhaust side it would not start tried 3 times,, plugged back in and it started,,, so the intake side coil pack must be what is bad on mine. boy it looks like job to get to and...

i have same problem. how did you test which coil pack was bad? i am sure this is what is wrong with mine. thanks with any help.
