A soft code is when the CEL comes on for however long or brief and goes out and may or may not randomly persist vs a hard code issue keeping the CEL on constantly.
It was explained to me that way...

Did you attempt to use a KOKO reader or just going by the obvious that the CEL isnt lit? You might have a soft code in there. If not, that "should" eliminate a sensor issue and now your going to be...
