just cleaned my maf, no difference noticed, same symptoms. could the code for a bad egr be linked to this problem?

hahaha couldn't have said it better myself. he coasted into the pep boys parking lot when it broke and figured he would just have them fix it. big mistake. i know they screwed something up.... but...

Update: just checked the plug wires. Everything looks in place. There is a arcing sound coming from one of the ignition coils though. Not sure if that is normal operation or not.

Okay I will check that very soon, I'm aware it is a non interference motor, pep boy said there is possibly internal damage from when the belt broke, because they were the one the previous owner took...

It's got a deal on a 2000 2.5 2wd for free!!! The guy took it to the shop where they fixed the timing belt that broke, but since then it has been bogging and chugging almost like its not timed right...
