Re: Rough / Fluctuating Idle

I've discovered that the loud clicking noise I'm hearing is the AC compressor clutch kicking on and off. From what I've gathered that's probably caused by a low freon charge. Apparently I have two...

Re: Rough / Fluctuating Idle

Is it possible I could have a slight vacuum or fuel pressure problem that is not bad enough to throw an error but, bad enough to cause rough idle?

Rough / Fluctuating Idle

I'm having an intermittent idle problem. I have a scan tool that I've used to try to find the problem. My STFT and LTFT are within +/- 5%. MAF graph on scanner seems to be good. It increases when I...

Re: Replacing Wheel Bearings

Yeah, I thought the 175 degree thing was a little strange, but that's what the Ford manual I have says along with the Chilton manual. I didn't use a protractor, I just eyeballed what seemed to be 180...

Re: Replacing Wheel Bearings

OK. Now I'm looking to find the correct spindle nut torque. The manual I have says to tight to 21 ft. lb. then back off 175 degrees then tighten to 18 in. lb. The torque wrench I have that measures...

Re: Replacing Wheel Bearings

Unfortunately I need new rotors. Called local Ford dealer. The rotors are $150 a piece. I don't know of anyplace else to get Motorcraft parts locally. Went back to Autozone. Discovered the outer...

Re: Replacing Wheel Bearings

Thanks, replacing the nuts didn't make a lot of sense to me. I am going to bring the rotors back and see if I can return them to autozone. I don't see why I wouldn't be able to since they don't seem...

Re: Replacing Wheel Bearings

After talking to some guys I work with I'm thinking maybe I got the wrong parts from Auto Zone since the outer bearings will not fit into the races that came with my rotors. I'm also hearing some say...

Re: Replacing Wheel Bearings

Yes, I got Chinese rotors and new bearings with races. The rotors already have races in them. The inner bearing seats in the already installed race just fine, but the outer bearing does not. Could...

Re: Replacing Wheel Bearings

I was under the impression new races came with the new rotors. I've decided that since I'm replacing the rotors I might as well replace the bearings and races while I'm at it.

Replacing Wheel Bearings

I'm replacing front pads and rotors. If I'm using new bearing races can I reuse the bearings as long as they are in good shape or should they be replaced when new races are used?
Thanks for any...
