Thanks for all the compliments guys.

The paint is Dupli-Color flat black from Oreilly's. It took about 6 cans.

Murdered Out The Ranger

I decided it was finally time to black out the Ranger. About a year ago I blacked out my street bike and have been in love since. I painted the inside of the headlights black. Since I had...

Re: High mileage Ranger???

I agree with 150,000+ being high mileage. I have 257,000 on mine.

My dad has a 98 Nissan Maxima with 310,000. Still runs great.

Re: a/c problem

Does it do this on MAX A/C or just A/C? Mine does the same thing on MAX A/C, but for normal A/C it works fine.

Re: Alternator

I'm gonna say the pinging is definitely your compressor. It's just the clutch engaging and disengaging. Mine does it too. And I think the hissing is from your a/c coil, which is behind your glove...

Re: tach wires question

http://www.fordrangerforum.com/electrical-tech/24819-1993-2004-wiring-info.html

As for the tach wires: Red will be ignition, green is for the tach signal, and I think white might be for back...

Where is the hissing noise coming from?

Re: Alternator

Turning the heat on will make the compressor come on in all positions except the floor and vent (I think). Defrost turns the compressor on. The reason for the compressor to turn on with heat is so...

Re: A/C retro-fit of non-A/C truck

What do you mean?

You will need the belt that includes running an a/c compressor. I'm talking about the main drive belt on the front of your motor. At a parts store they will ask you if your...

Re: A/C retro-fit of non-A/C truck

You will need all the lines, coil, condenser, compressor, dryer bottle, orifice tube, and bigger drive belt for the added compressor. To put in the coil you will have to remove the whole dash. To me...

Re: Georga guys get in here.

You should still go. Last year there were a few "plain Jane" Rangers. The meet was more about talking and having fun.

Re: Best off road light

I also suggest Hella. I have (2) 500FF behind my billet grill. And they are plenty for rural driving. They also make 700FF which is bigger, but I don't know the exact size. Match these with 130w...

Re: truck will not turn on!!!

Are your plugs dirty or corroded? You may wanna blow them out just to be sure. When you turn ignition on do all the warning lights come on like normal?

Check your fuses in the engine bay. You might have blown one. Are your plugs dirty?

Re: Led help!!!

You would have to get an electronic flasher. The one for our trucks is EP27. They're like $10 at Advance. If you put in LEDs with the regular flasher then they would hyper flash. I think the turn...

Re: Led help!!!

I forgot to add that 74 bulbs are for your indicator lights. High beam, engine light, 4x4, turn signal, etc. You could still use your 74 LEDs in those.

Re: Led help!!!

I'm pretty sure 194 bulbs go there and not 74. I have 194 LEDs in my gauge cluster and a/c controls.

Re: My ranger just died suddenly!!!!!

What size motor do you have and how many miles? If you have a 2.3L your timing belt might have broke. Have someone jump you off. If it cranks up, then I would say alternator.

If you have it...
