There should be a diagram on the panel to the fuse box which will illustrate the fuse that goes with the fuel gauge.

I just made sure that the fuse was not blown and since it wasn't, I replaced both fuel pumps which fixed the problem.
The size of the tank is around 17 gallons or so. I have the long bed truck so...

Yes, that is a concern. I need to find a way to glue/secure the wires to the door hinge housing so that they don't come into contact with the moving parts.

My 1987 Ranger did not come with factory door speakers so I had to modify my door panels by making a custom speaker bracket. See the pictures below.
