Thats why I have it so I can switch it back to regular, and not just wiring in a resistor. I flip the switch and ecu thinks the engine is hot. Something goes wrong unexpectedly, and I flip the switch...

I've got a m5od 1994, 2.3l, 209k. I swapped out the gear oil, with ATF that mets or exceeds MERCON. I was hoping for synthetic ATF because I live in Canada and it gets freezing cold here! I suppose...

My father got the gear oil from his work, he said it shouldn't be a problem. Why is a thicker syn oil worse in the manual transmission then ATF? What difference does it make?

I added synthetic gear oil to mine, will that screw it up? Has anyone had problems with synthetic gear oil instead of ATF?
