Re: engine smoke

I just checked coolant looks good. I did have to add half a quart of oil last week. I have drove about 1500 miles since last oil change. So it seems to be burning oil somewhere.

If oil is leaking...

Re: engine smoke

I don't smell gas when running. I will add the truck does seem to use a little oil. It's not leaving from the engine, so is burning it from some where.

Re: engine smoke

Thanks for the reply. Yes the smoke is white. I haven't notice any coolant loss.

If it is leaking valve seals, do I need to address the issue immediately?

Exclamation engine smoke

1984 4 cyl 2.0 smoking bad when engine is cold. Like a mosquito fog truck... It doesn't seem to matter what the temperatures are outside. I also notice black condensation on the ground from the trail...

Question mpg

What is a reasonable mpg I can expect from a 2.0 Manuel. It has had the 1 barrel carb replaced with a 2 barrel carb.

Re: 1984 idle ad gas mileage issues

Here is where I am at with my ranger. I replaced, plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor button, and air filter. After that the truck still only got 13 miles to the gallon.

I started looking for...

Exclamation sticking gas pedal

I have a 84 2.0 Manuel ranger. I bought this truck about three weeks ago so I don't have alot of knowledge of what type of maintenance it has had in the past. The truck for about 15 miles to the...

Re: 1984 idle ad gas mileage issues

I will give that a try. Thanks. I am also planning to do a tune up on pay day. I hope that solves the issue. I really can't afford it to be a carberator issue.

Re: 1984 idle ad gas mileage issues

Power seems ok. There is some hesitation while driving.... it's not bucking, I can just feel some sluggishness while driving. I only notice it while at driving speeds not when accelerating.

Exclamation 1984 idle ad gas mileage issues

I just bought a 1984 2.0 standard ranger. It doesn't like to idle at stops. The truck will idle for a few seconds and then start trying to die. It is also getting terrible gas mileage. 3/4 tank and...
