Re: Morning Overheats
The motorcraft ones are calling for OEM temp of 190. When mine blew up, I got a 180 from Advance Auto. Works fine and it's been doing so for 15K miles. Average cruising temp is about 184 with...

Re: Things you've hit with your truck
For legal reasons, I see hitting the sheriff as a potential winner......but I don't know....hitting a family of coyotes takes some talent. Have you seen how alert those things are normally?

Things you've hit with your truck
Well, not sure if anyone's hit anything "odd" before, but yesterday was a new one for me. I've hit deer and small animals (raccoon, possum, squirrel, rabbit...etc) before, but yesterday.....

Re: Best Upgrades Following New Tires
Prior to? Usually you do that at the time of installation as the new tires could slightly impact the alignment of the suspension. New tire = more tread = more round = different suspension angles

Ok, that is the route I will go. I have a few tubes at home, so no extra expense. Do you suggest the 15 or 30 year stuff? :D

Re: Leaking from 3rd brake light
I was avoiding the use of silicone. I was simply trying to find if someone has made a type of rubber grommet "plug" to prevent water from getting into the light housing. If silicone is the...

Re: I Need an opinion on rear end
You should be fine with 31s even with the 3.0. If you go higher, then the 3.0 may start to feel more under powered than it already is using 3.73.

Leaking from 3rd brake light
My 3rd brake light leaks water into the cab after a hard rainfall. I've replaced the seal with yoga mat material (very dense), but eventually it just seeps in. Has anyone found a seal for the...

What year Rough Country 4x4 kit is it? Most likely it won't fit other than the rear lift sections.

I do the same and spray the bottom leftover fluid just to help it evacuate faster. Other than that, I leave the carrier and pinion bearing areas alone because riding them of their lubricant will...

Re: coolant leak
Get some on your finger and smear it. If it feels oily, then it's coolant....if it's just wet, it's condensation. 99.9999% sure that's just condensation from the accumulator, but worth giving a...

He's up against a wall though, because on Rockauto, even the Motorcraft models are the larger ones. Maybe there was a mid-year switch from larger to smaller filters or something?

^Agreed. Because the voltage regulator is built into the alternator, that is what controls the voltage coming out of the alternator. Those usually fail first before the internals of the alternator...

Re: Fuel filter R & R ? on a 2002 Flex fuel 3.0
Maybe another 3.0L guy could chime in. I doubt any difference, other than size, is going to be the issue between the two. Must have something to do with the flex-fuel setup? Just seems odd.

Re: Fuel filter R & R ? on a 2002 Flex fuel 3.0
Wow, that is a big difference in size. I'd take it back and see if you can get the more narrow one to fit in the brace. Wix 33424 is the one for the 4.0L and is narrow. Should be fine to use.
