Re: 4x4 doesnt work

If you still have the auto hubs could be those. Check if the front driveshaft turns when in 4x4 and if it is locked to the rear (ie. doesnt turn unless in n and all tires off the ground) then its one...

Re: Trouble code P1443

Start with replacing the valve and the solenoid by the valve. Male sure to smoke test the evap system and make sure it isnt a hose or something, I've replaced all I can think of and still have my...

Re: Is this to much rust? Impact on price?

Shackles and leaf spring mounts could be done soon for sure but as for the rest looks normal to me. I wire wheeled my frame and sprayed it with undercoating to keep it from rusting and you could do...

Re: How to wire up roll bar lights?

I would suggest using a relay under the hood. Run heavy gauge wire from the relay to the battery, and heavy gauge wire from the relay to the lights. This will be a switched power by the relay....

Re: Ranger Rebuild- 2 become 1

Well the 2 become one is more like 3 become 1 now. I picked up a 2004 ranger that had been rolled with only 122,000km on it to kindly donate some parts to the '95. The transmission on '95 had bad...

I made several changes to my 1995 4.0 with the 5 speed and caused a couple issues... My transmission was shot so I bought a 2004 ranger for parts, swapped in the m5od-r1-hd for my non hd as well as...

What to do with the new parts Ranger

My 1995 4.0 ohv with the m5od-r1 has a terrible throw out bearing and sycros are shot, no surprise with 430,000km. I picked up a 2004 ranger for parts, its been in a rollover but has the 4.0 sohc and...

Re: Attaching roof top storage... to bed rails?

I wasn't planning on attaching it to the roof at all, but just to the bed, after some thought I think the only way to make it strong enough would be to go the whole length of the bed rail with the...

Attaching roof top storage... to bed rails?

I am in need of some more storage on my ranger. the box has a full length toolbox that takes up the bottom 10" and I have nowhere for a spare tire that will fit. I have a canopy I use in the...

Re: M5OD grinding/howling in all gears with clutch in

Thanks guys, pretty sure its the throw out bearing. Transmission has 430,000km on it now and shifts really difficult (shift forks or syncros) but I have a spare from my old truck with only 250,000 on...

Re: i need a little more power

The 4.0 OHV doesn't have a whole lot of power to get you there quick. It is great for torque and can idle way down when off road or tow well due to the torque. Adding power is not easy, proper...

Re: You know why I'm here

Where did you get the projector style headlights? and how did you wire them to get all the lights to work as the older style only had two bulbs(one turn, one headlight)?

Re: Light rack wiring

I'm not sure I totally understand the issue? Couldn't you just run all 5 power feeds into a larger wire (given 5*35=175W and about 6ft wire, with max allowable voltage drop=5%, I'd say 8 gauge will...

Even the owners manual allows the hubs to be locked with transfer case in 2hi, but does warn of increased wear. pg 170 from the 1996 manual says "Operating in 2H with the hubs in the LOCK position...

Re: Rear axle 8.8 swap

From what I have heard on the swap, the explorer diff is a few inches wider, so unless you want that you need to shorten it. The leaf perches are under instead of above. so new ones need to be welded...

Re: Rear Bumper Replacement-Easy Or Hard?

No, it was quite simple actually, I pried under one corner popped a clip, and then was able to after popping a couple more clips just pull on the pad and give a little pry to each clip and came easy....

Re: Rear Bumper Replacement-Easy Or Hard?

Lubing the clips would probably help, mine were over 20 years old so yours are likely a little stronger still anyway. Soaking the bolts will likely help unless they are really rusted in like my 95,...

Re: Rear Bumper Replacement-Easy Or Hard?

On my 94 and 95 the clips were part of the pad, but only a couple break so the pad goes on and you can't even tell it has broken clips, stay tight everywhere. The bumper was held on by either 4 bolts...

Re: Towing Capabilities

Towing is much different in different places, and depending on how far you are towing. The truck will handle it, I still tow well over 4000lbs with my 95 4.0L ohv and it does fine. Trailer brakes are...

I've checked all connections behind the radio and they are all tight, anywhere else I should check? Could it be at the antenna or is it just one piece with no plug or connection?

Re: Front Bumper Removal

Not certain on the 92 and older but my 94 and 95 have 2 bolts on each side on through plates. Bolts are probably rusted solid so oxy-acetylene may be needed to remove them, it was for me. Cost should...
