Re: low speed loud rubbing/humming tone

One thing you can try is hold it at that speed you hear it and steer back and forth in your lane (left to right). If the noise changes when you steer back and forth it could likely be a wheel bearing...

Re: The beater thread

Great truck build man! I'm a member of CNYJEEP and love running my ranger with the jeeps. I do a lot of hardcore wheeling and so far have had very good luck with ttb although the 4 cylinders used a...

Re: 97 reg cab 2wd 4 inch lift

4.10 would be fine if you don't go off road and there are stock axles with 4.10's which might be a cheaper swap depending on junkyard prices.

Re: How much should my mpg go down with a lift

It's not really a big deal to me that you don't care about how much money you spend but I use it as my daily driver as well and one free day extra to work and back was pleasantly noticeable....

Re: How much should my mpg go down with a lift

The flex a lite I bought was for a v8 mustang and it fit my raditor perfect. I got very lucky because they retail for $359-429 depending on where you look. I found one on craigslist about an hour...

Re: Removing bed bolts that have been Line-X'd over

I would just center punch the tops and drill out the heads. it took me about 15-20 minutes to drill mine and you work topside which is way easier.

Re: How much should my mpg go down with a lift

Re: 12 Volt Fans?

I have a Flexalite electric fan kit out of a mustang and it works excellent. I literally picked up about 35 extra miles out of a tankfuk. I am tickled.

Re: 33's??

I wouldn't bother looking for disc. That was on explorers but the spring perches are wrong and would have to be cut and rewelded not to mention fabbing brakes to work with emergency brake etc.......

Re: 33s + factory height

Don't get spacers, front is normally a little wider. No money?? Do a Washer lift on the front coils and you can do a 1-1/2" body lift with spacers only and no mods needed. You'll end up about 3...

Re: 33's??

I would start at $100 and go from there. If all the brakes are also good and intact it is easily worth $150-200 and I wouldn't be afraid to spen that amount. You will also need to get new U-bolts but...

Re: 33's??

Well you really win cause it will only cost half as much lol! Gearing is better to have someone do since the tolerances need to be just right. Explorer axles use the springs under the axle so unless...

Re: 33's??

Well that opens up another can albeit a small one. I will go back to the expense and say that if you are going to do it you want to do it once. I would call the junkyards for an 8.8 ranger rearend...

Re: 33's??

I will have to disagree slightly on gear choice and I definitely speak from experience. The 4.56 gears and 33's will put you at almost exactly stock gearing but with larger tires. However, if you...
