Re: Dash cluster switch
I'm in the same boat (and my odometer quit working), so off to the yard today. 1995-2003 are plug and play swaps. Ranger, Explorer and Sport Trac all use the same/compatible clusters (difference in...

Re: buckets to 60/40
60/40 seats use the same tracks as buckets. Not sure if they are the same from Second Gen (1992) to Third Gen (1994). Maybe.

Not "today" but since I last reported in. '06 mirror instal, front brakes (rotors, bearings, seal, pads), and gutted the intake muffler. The mirrors are HUGE compared to the original flags.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread II
So far, I've just done the obligatory drive around the block with them. With that said, they seem like a huge improvement. But the old shocks were trashed. Virtually no dampening in three out of four...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread II
Changed the shocks. KYB gas-a-just replaced the well-worn originals (one of which was completely blown, oil everywhere, no resistance). Sent the mis-boxed pads back to RockAuto.com yesterday. Looks...

All sorts of seats will fit without modification. I have seats out of the previous body style Mustang in mine. On standard cabs, the bolt pattern is 14" square. The Mustang seats I have had...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread II
Just a bit, have to take off the risers.
Here's a "how to" http://www.fordrangerforum.com/how-submissions/60790-how-06-mirror-swap.html
I used a flush cutting dowel saw and cleaned up with a...

Installed the '06+ mirrors. MUCH better. Sprayed PB Blaster on the shock bolts. Will follow up with a shot every day until I get to them next weekend.

Re: Random pics of your truck thread
At least it will get done quickly. Sucks that it happened though.
Was the kid not paying attention/texting? He should get a swift kick in the nuts and/or his phone smashed as part of the deal.

Re: Bad fuel pump. How to raise the bed by myself?
You don't want to do that, it will pull on the fuel filler tube and the top of the tank.
Disconnect the fuel filler neck and raise the bed up from the side. I picked mine up from one side, moved...

Ordered the parts for the front brakes and shocks. Also ordered '06 style mirrors. Going to see about finding a replacement hub cap for the one that got mangled in August. Insurance finally paid.

Pull the seat forward and tip it forward. They are at the back of the rails on the floor. Usually just a plastic cover that pops off. Mine was a bench, so there was nothing bolted to the side of the...

Re: Thinking about color match grill and rear bumper
I would have, but the sun had started to degrade the plastic, and there is no way I'd be able to match the fade of the rest of the paint.
The whole thing may end up flat black eventually. The...

Mine was color-matched, and rather than restoring it, I went with Herculiner on mine. The grill was sun-faded, as was the trim around the headlights/marker-lights (complete with a chunk missing from...
