Buy some FLOWABLE silicone windshield sealer then follow the directions. This stuff flows into the small gaps around the rubber.

AZone, NAPA other parts stores has this sealer.

Get some 1/8"x1" flat stock and bend it up..... slip it under the cover and hit the latch on the cover. This will be easy to do "IF" you are familiar with the latch location/operation on the cover.

Does anyone know the manufacturer and model number of the "BACK TAPPING" tool for repairing a cross threaded spark plug hole on a 2003 4.0 ranger? I gotta buy one ASAP.

I decided to change the plugs on my 2003 4.0 and wehn I removed the #6 plug it was hard to get out because the previous owner cross threaded it in the hole. I do have some good threads on the bottom...

You can always go with a "inexpensive" 12 volt linear acutator and make some brackets. It will work fine but it will not look as good as a custom unit.
