Sounds like you found a flat spot in your fly wheel... If you look through the starter hole, you should be able to see the flywheel teeth. Put a socket on the crank pulley and rotate the engine...

Yup, to put an expo 8.8 you need to cut the spring perches and flip them 180 degrees. Also you'll need new shock mount tabs too bc the expo mounts to the leaf spring mounts.
