Well I finally fiogured it out... Aparently ford made a ranger option in 1987 with a standard cab STX that had an aditional 1.5"s of lift and a 2.9 liter engine that had alittle more power than other...

I dont have control arms... 4x4, it has basically a straight axle... So I have upper and lower ball joints... and you have to pull axles to change them out... Doing it this weekend...

So going to replace the front main seal on my 1989 Ranger 2.9l... Looked around a bit for a thread on doing thism but didnt find any... Replaced seal before on other vehicles but not the ranger......

Well if money is tight, you can do a roll on bedliner... It sells for alot less... might cost about 100 bucks or so to do your bed and then you can tape off your rails and do those as well...

Ya, makes sense... I know if im putting it together its done right... Im strongly thinking its time to just go buy a junkyard motor and put it on the engine stand and break it down... Thanks guys...

I would just get rid of it... Take your truck and have a spray on bedliner done, and have them do the bed rails too, and that will cover all the scratches and paint that rubbed off and it wont rust...

Ya, see I want to do the heads and all... Figured i will do it all since ive got it torn apart... No sense on having a fresh bottom end and then having something happen with the top...

WE have a spot up here in washington called Elbe Hills ORV park... Dont have any pics of us on this computer, but you guys should google it... Pretty nasty park, alot of TIGHT trails and make shift...
