try checking your upper intake manifold gaskets,their are 3 gaskets that needs to be replace,4.0 have a problems as the gaskets get old ( leaking ). 22.00 bucks for the kit. 3 to 4 hrs. work time

182,000 miles ,4.0 xlt 1999 ranger, getting about 19 mpg ,4wh,still runs good,best dam truck I got.

hi there, I've had that same problem also p171 & p174 , 4.0 engines have a upper intake gasket (3 total) that leak air,they need to be replace. they're about 22.00 bucks for the set . I've replace...

TrePaul86, when u change over royal purple tranny oil ,did u feel any diff in the tranny shift, I'm doing a tranny oil change to RP MAX ATF??

My 99 ranger with 4.0 auto 4x4 is due for oil change, filter also, I like to do royal purple MAX ATF. the manual says 10.8 qts.?? is that draining all the fluid out of the tranny and refilling it...

I was going to do fiberglass,but i'm alergic to the chemicals,and so I could not find a explorer consol around that had a high price on it or it was busted up, materials was laying around so I built...
