When lowering the front with the beams do you need to replace factory shocks with drop shocks like in the rear. Or even the front springs? I think the beams give you 3" up front and 4" with the flip...

15ish maybe. I've never really checked. But I swap between my 83 302 ranger and the 93 4.0 and I go farther with the bigger motor.
I'll try a few of those tricks you were talking about.

It may just be mine but my 93 4.0 is shit on gas mileage. I honestly think my 83 v8 is doing better in the mpg dept.
My 93 has fresh coil, wires, plugs, comp cam, timing chain, and I'm not hard.
