2.3 2.5 question

well 2.5's are hard to find around me, so my question is, can i take a 2.3 and put in a crankshaft from a 2.5 or do i need to do more then that.
i would be getting a full rebuild kit with pistons...

Heavy Duty Crimper
Noble 8 awg HD butt connector {Noble part #910}
15MM Socket

well i searched and could not find a thing, but i could be silly and not saw it, but anyway i have a 98 ranger xlt regular cab.
my driver seat has these two rods sticking out of the back, i assume...
