WTH motorcraft?

Trying to get identical replacement plugs, that worked so well for years, has been frustrating. Seems that they're no longer available. A search for Motorcraft AGFS24PGM turns up alternatives, but...

4.0 lower intake manifold blues

Yeah, it all started so simple, just chasing a coolant leak. Decided to replace the thermostat housing, after determining that it wasn't the sending units responsible for the water on top of the...

Turn signal flashes with no key in the ignition

Happened to look over at my 04 ranger this afternoon. Noticed a single flash. Thought hmmm, that's weird. Their was just the single flash. This truck hasn't been driven in at least 2 weeks. It's been...

Re: Which brand of fuel pump

I haven't heard anything good about any of em. But I'm sure that the expensive one is made in China, and likely is made right in the same sweat shop as one of the cheaper ones. Made to the same...

Re: Which brand of fuel pump

Thanks cb9! I didn't realize that I'd placed that much emphasis lol, but looking at my post you are correct. I wouldn't say it's the top priority, but if I'm back replacing it again in another year,...

Which brand of fuel pump

Well, I'm having fuel issues again, and there's not a lot of miles on the pump that I just replaced awhile back. This vehicle only gets driven a few times a month, sometimes not even that.

Re: Football talk

So you're saying, run ten yards, or ten feet, if he bobbles the ball when he hits the ground, it's incomplete. That's ridiculous, just more hatin on the cowboys.
They've stretched that rule a...

Re: The Infamous P0171 and P0174 codes troubleshooting

My lean codes, were caused by a weak fuel pump. There's a link somewhere around here, that leads to a do it yourself website, that walks you through the process of elimination. Mine was the last step...

Re: Hard to find fuel pump

So is that all it is then? The long wheel base? It doesn't seem like it should be complicated, to send fuel a given distance. But why so many pumps?
My concern, is that since this thing eats...

Hard to find fuel pump

Motorcraft 9H307(PFS-249) Well, I suppose it's not that hard to find, at full price. However, I was reluctant to spend close to five hundred dollars, on a pump that will likely fail in a year or so....

Re: I Want Music For Cheap~Help!

For around fifty to just over a hundred bucks, you can get a mp3 player. You can get more music on that player than you could listen to in a month of non stop playing.
There's lots of places...

Re: I Want Music For Cheap~Help!

Paying for a phone plan, that limits your usage just doesn't make sense. I also use a Trackphone, and for forty five bucks, I get unlimited talk, text and data. I think you should look at a different...

Re: Starting Problems 2002 Edge 4.0

Sounds like the fuel pump. I know you tested it, but you tested it, when it was working. Try the test when it's not starting.

Test the fuel pressure, it sounds like a fuel issue.

Re: 02 sensors, what brands to use /avoid?

Did the fuel pressure test today. And just to cover any easy fix scenario, I picked up a new fuel filter. Test results, seem to point to bad fuel pump. But you guys are smarter than me on this stuff....

Re: 02 sensors, what brands to use /avoid?

Yes the maf sensor is on the list, as I check all the components in the fuel/air mix system. Although I haven't totally ruled out a vacuum leak, the probability factor is way down. There doesn't seem...

Re: 02 sensors, what brands to use /avoid?

It seems a bit expensive, in my case, to just roll the dice. However in your case I can see why it would make sense.
I've got a fuel pressure test kit ordered. When the kit arrives, I'll test the...

Re: 02 sensors, what brands to use /avoid?

Yeah, it's what I thought. But that's a good, quick response. Thanks guys!
BTW. The mechanic who replaced the fuel pump a couple years ago, recently said the same thing about the fuel pressure. So...

02 sensors, what brands to use /avoid?

I have an 04 ranger Edge 4.0. It's got around 180.000 miles. So it's time for new sensors, especially since I've got lean codes showing. I've ruled out vacuum leaks, PCV valve, cleaned the maf...
