The "wobbly" speedometer could be the result of a loose connection at the transmission and/or instrument panel.
If it's electronic (sensor), how would it "wobble"?

Caress the engine bay for a 302 and stick a 671 BLOWER on it.
You'll then have enough power after you replace the trans and rear gears with Detroit Locker, beef up the frame, etc....end of line

NEW Exhaust system from Cat to tail.
Runs better of course with back pressure and fuel mileage appears improved somewhat.
Oil pan leaking but it's cheaper to add oil than lift engine and replace...
