Re: Unlocked Flashpaq Superchips for FORD RANGER Houston/TX (Detail inside)

I'm also in Houston, I can throw a few bucks your way if we can meet and I can flash my truck before you sell it.

Upgrading rear axle?

The transmission in my '01 3.0 Auto is in poor health and will likely need a rebuild. It shifts rough, will slip out of gear when cold, and has trouble accelerating. The revs are there, but the...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Took her on a 1800 mile road trip on our move from Houston to NYC and she made it without a hiccup. the fault codes are still there but I firmly believe the truck is being a hypochondriac. everything...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Good idea on the temperature comparisons. I'll go ahead and do that today.

I did not do a fuel pressure test.

Finished off a tank yesterday and averaged 16.7mpg, which is right on target....

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Pulled the plugs, plugs are running perfectly. Swapped the MAF, no difference. Truck is idling just fine, no O2 sensor codes anymore. Averaging 16mpg, plenty of power.

Still got both "System too...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Current MAF (not the new one I ordered) seems to be running fine. At full throttle it nets ~250CFM. At idle it averages about 45-50CFM.

So I'm thinking the MAF is working correctly... I'd be mad...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

New MAF hasn't arrived yet, so it hasn't been swapped yet.

I'll be pulling PID data later today with the truck running to get live readings of the MAF if at all possible.

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

She's running beautifully. Perfect amount of power, averaged 13 miles per gallon on this tank. Idling nearly perfect (it's a Vulcan, I don't expect Caddilac-ish idling), and plugs have dirtied up a...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

The Fuel Pulse Damper is functioning just fine. Held pressure and did not leak any fuel through the diaphragm.

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Wow, you guys are awesome!

I figured the 1.27v reading from 2/2 was false in some way. Also, the "Lack of Heated Switching Oxygen Sensor" codes have not come back, only P0172 and P0175...

That's what I figured.

According to this then, it seems to be functioning properly.

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

I sure hope so. By the way, the 3 working sensors are constantly going back and forth in voltage readings. 0.15 --> 0.8 --> 0.2 --> 0.6 --> 0.15 --> 0.8 and so on, sort of like a wavelength.

Are...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Most likely a California-specific system, and/or a 4.0 system.

The PCM appears that it's never been touched. I'm thinking that it's just a dummy reading that wasn't written out of the PCM's...

According to absolutely everywhere, my 3.0 truck is only supposed to have 3 O2 sensors...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Can't find any wires or anything after the Bank 1 Sensor 2 (plugged into the cat and functioning properly).

Bank 2 sensor 2 is still reading 1.27v constantly. Where can I look in the wiring under...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Right - that's what I mean, Bank 2 Sensor 2 doesn't exist. Where should it exist on a stock system, so I can look for any wires?? Further back on the exhaust? If it falls to 0v then it should just...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Thing is, there's only three O2 sensors. Two upstream and one downstream. The exhaust is not factory, I believe.

And the fault codes are saying that both banks are indicating rich. No idea why...

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

Just ordered a new MAF, should be here on Tuesday or Wednesday. It was reading 1.24cfm with the truck off?

Here's some PID data. O2 sensors are switching correctly. It's a non-FFV 3.0 Vulcan.

Re: O2 Sensor / System too Rich Fault Codes, Seems to be running fine??

That spark plug is completely clean, it isn't running lean (or rich) at all. They're all good burning plugs.

I have a scanner that can read PID data. The O2 sensors are brand new and are...
