The same place. Grounds don't "short" each other, they only "short" positives. You can ground it anywhere there's definite metal or straight to the battery.

It should be a D35. If there's 10 bolts in the cover then it is, but the only way to know if it's truly a 35 is to look inside. If you pull the fill plug on the front of the housing and look inside...
