Re: 2000 Ford Ranger 4 cylinder Runs Rough at 50 MPH

Re: 15 mpg in my Ranger

I have driven my 1995 ranger about 400 miles since I purchased it and have averaged 15 mpg so far and that is based off only 7-8 gallons per fill up. The gas guage isn't working and only feel...

Re: 2000 Ford Ranger 4 cylinder Runs Rough at 50 MPH

I see you have changed out a whole bunch of parts and still have the same issue, I dont see any mention of changing the fuel filter, or whether or not you have added "dry gas" to the gas tank....

Re: Replacing Engine mounts.

You may need to slightly lift the block in order to replace the motor mount but not always. A 2 ton jack is more then enough to make this slight movement.

Re: What oil do you recommend?

I agree with the not going 25,000 miles without an oil change. too much, i could possibly see 7,000 but even that is a push!

Re: 13-16 mpg. not sure whats cuasing it.

Another possiblity is the thermastat is stuck open and constantly running coolant through the engine, this will lower fuel efficiency. would definitely recommend a full tune up, and fluid change.

Re: Truck cranks but won't start

in order to run you need fuel, air and spark. you obviously have spark because it runs on starter spray. check airfilter and if filthy or wet replace. also maybe a timing issue despite you "re-timed...
