Alternator was not up to the task, didn't realize I only had a 95 amp. Bearing in this thing were shot and the voltage regulator was draining my battery. Upgraded to a 370 amp JS alternator, also...

A coat of epoxy primer for maximum corrosion resistance and seam sealer to keep the salt out.

Extending the rocker panel all the way to the back of the corner. No more cavity with a piece of plastic plugging up the hole.

Got the panels welded back in after tackling the rust. Reused the panel on this side as there was only some light surface rust.

Got the truck up on a lift and inspected the u-joints. They look ok from visual inspection but I grabbed the drive shaft and was able to move it a bit from the transfer case and in the differential....

It's most likely that the bottom latch has rusted out, just happened to mine this year. Get someone to push from the inside while someone pulls from the outside and it should finally pop open. Then...

Laquer thinner or some sort of paint clean up liquid. As long as the clear coat is intact underneath you should be able to wipe it away given they painted it with rattle cans.

You dont need a 'high performance' head for a cam upgrade even if they existed. But yes you can upgrade the cam on a stock engine, you won't be adding enough power to warrant any other upgrades. ...
