Re: OffRoading Basics

Don't forget to have really solid recovery points, front and rear. Nothing makes a day offroad worse than getting stuck then pulling a tow hook off trying to free it.

Re: Photo Contest 223 Submission

It's actually my codriver looking at stage notes; this is a fuel stop from a recent TSD rally, though now that you mention it he does look out cold, lol.

1998 Steering Wheel Replacement

I have a freebie Momo steering wheel sitting in front of me, the issue is that when I checked Momo's website the adapter kits are only listed for Rangers up until the '97 model year.

Does anyone...

The steering squeal doesn't seem like it could be related to a knock, that sounds more like coincidence to me.

Does your engine knock all the time,...

De-powered Steering Rack

Hey guys,

My 98 Ranger's rack is leaking and my pump is crying for death, so I'm toying with the idea of ditching the power steering entirely; the truck is a low-budget rallycross beater and I'll...

Re: towing a jeep?

I have flat-towed my lightweight CJ7 behind my 2.5L Ranger with a tow bar for short distances without too much fuss, but it has 4.56 axle gears, 5-leaf rear springs, HD shocks, a shift kit, and 4...

Re: talk me into, or out of putting in a locker...

Having installed a rear locker in my Jeep CJ7 (I know, not a Ranger, boo, hiss, etc.), I will never have an offroad vehicle that doesn't have at least one locked differential now. The difference (at...

Re: AOD floor shifter?

I rigged a floor shifter onto my Ranger's 4R44E, and to route the shifter cable, I just drilled a hole in the firewall and put a grommet there for the cable to run through.

You can use a cable of...
