Re: Absolutely baffled by a belt squeal
I had the same issue. Bought a new dayco belt. Sound was still there. Bought a gatorback belt. It went away. The difference in the quality of the belts is pretty big.

I'll have to figure out how to post it all here tomorrow. It doesn't say what type of accident it was in or if it has frame damage. This is Autocheck not Carfax, Carfax might show more. Some states...

Well I've only ever seen it from the drivers side and I only thought I had one. Found two. I guess it is to hold the heat shield on. That's what it looks like.
Drivers side...

I'll take pictures of mine later if you want? Mine is still on and I don't think it's to hold insulation? Maybe mine is missing the insulation, haha.

Thanks, I was also wondering this a few days ago.
You say it's a sticker? I thought it was painted. Is there somewhere you can but it?

Re: Is this how I use the fan clutch removal tool? (pic)
Yea, I had read about them breaking on people. It definitely was not my first choice but I was stuck. I figured since the bolt wasn't seized it would work fine in this situation. If it broke I...

Re: Chirp & squeal
I think the chirp of death goes away as you accelerate. A belt squeal would increase as you accelerate.
I had the chirp of death and that was how I figured it out. I don't know if every situation...

Thanks, I wasn't sure how everything came apart and didn't want to break something. I'll try that next time since. :)
I didn't replace the fan clutch or water pump so I'll be back in there...

Woohoo! I got it off no problem.
Went to the store and bought this. It took maybe 5lbs of pressure and that was it!

I had a lot of trouble fitting my gator back belt. It was very tight and hard to get on.

The clutch does...

I've flipped a lot of cars on Craigslist and never had anyone sketchy. I usually meet them somewhere close by like Walgreens. They will have your address if they buy the truck.
I think the problem...
