Yes. I picked it up Thursday at noon, drove it like a effing banshee around town, did some mods to it today, washed it and parked it for the remainder of spring... I mean winter. Or whatever this is....

Well, the reason i persist is because - correct me if I'm wrong - but, the 2000 3.0 ranger's maximum towing capacity is 5,860lbs and the payload is rated at 1,540lbs. SO, if we say 15% of the weight...

Thanks guys. It will be a project. According to the service info at a shop my dad works at, this is a 6.5 hour job to remove and reinstall the tranny, and that's WITH the right tools and equipment...

I have this exact same problem in my 2000 with the 5spd.

From park, 1st, reverse - no problem.

When driving, 2nd wants to just not go in, unless you push it a little. No grind, though.
