Shop around. Check some websites like amazon, ebay, your favorite automotive websites. Then you can decide if it's a good deal or not.

Re: Raptor Bedliner kit, opinions?
Raptor is one of the most popular DIY liners on the Jeep forums.
I haven't used it myself, but I've seen dozens of jeepers post pics of their raptor lined jeeps, and testimonials for the product....

Re: Help deciding how to cover the bed
My pickup came with a shell on it, and the inside of the bed was scratched pretty bad by the PO dragging things in and out.
I couldn't get used to the shell, so I sold it.
That left my bed and...

Definitely look into the turn signal mod! I feel the same as you, the corner light SHOULD be the turn signal. It's a very quick and easy mod to do.

Running defroster will also have adverse effects on your mileage, it causes the A/C pump to run.

Re: Pros/cons
There are hard-folding bed covers as well. They are a bit more expensive than the fabric ones. I think the cheapest tri-fold I found was around $500, going up to about a grand.

Re: 2003 Ranger 4wd auto
Sounds like you're running 4wd when you shouldn't.

While somewhat handy, I couldn't see out the back, every window was tinted. So I ditched the shell and rhino lined the bed.
