I've been checking it out, and you may be right, it probably wouldn't fit. My only thing is the new f150 ecoboost cost a pretty penny, compared to picking up a junker jeep for $400

It is a fantastic engine, but the f150 I got access too is 2wd so I'd have to track down a drivetrain for it

I'm just now getting around to buying parts for it. I'm gonna use a D40 out of a jeep Cherokee. And if I can fit it, I wanna do an inline 6 out of the same jeep, with transmission, and transfer...

If you still hadn't figured it out, mine did the same thing, behind the brake booster (under the hood) right next to steering Column, (big black cylinder) there is a ball joint on the shifter linkage...

Edit: *SAS I've got a 2wd 1994 ford ranger xlt. Has a 4.0 v6, auto tranny. I wanna put a solid axle up front. I'm gonna do a conversion eventually, but in my mind, a sold axle is the first step....
