I got in my Ranger yesterday and started down the road and like magic the speedometer started working.

These trucks are really fun !

Yes the Odometer works fine. I didn't know if they came off the same sensor or not so I replaced them. It would seem like a power problem to the gauge but the fuse looks okay.

Update

I did have to go ahead and replace the master cylinder before it worked right. Went on a long trip last week and everything worked great.

Original clutch was bad from not releasing fully all the time which toasted the clutch. The new clutch seems to be ok because I only drove it a few miles and stopped when it started slipping.

That was the first thing that entered my mind. That the slave was not releasing. Because I can put it in gear and it rolls it's not ingauged at all.

I'll be taking it back tomorrow and I'll question about the slave cylinder. But it will not move. If the slave cylinder was bad wouldn't it keep it from stopping when you push the clutch ?
