Thanks for the response Dan. It turns out the 'new' solenoid was bad. Replaced it and the code went away.

We have hydraulic clutches. Have you checked the fluid.

This is the first I've heard that P1443 is a O2 sensor. Consensus on other boards is that it is the purge valve sensor.

Yesterday I installed new shocks on all four corners, replaced the fuel pressure regulator.
Today i flushed the cooling system.
Next up, new fuel filter, TPS and PS flush.

I have a '96 XLT. What type of filter do I have? Hopefully the one with the regular hose clamp. I ordered the filter but haven't crawled under the truck to take a look at it yet.

I forgot to mention the truck idled fine until I replaced the solenoid. It just had no power.

I removed the IAC valve and cleaned it. It was pretty dirty. Didn't help the idle issue.
I DID remove the vacuum hose from the top of the EGR valve and the idle smoothed out.
Any ideas? I hate...
