Thanks for the memory-jogger. It goes on the back of the left cylinder head. That would explain the extra bolt I had left over as well :)

I need a pic of the power steering pressure hose, where it goes into the rack and pinion under the truck. I've had it with these pre-bent hoses that don't ever seem to fit.

Yep, mine's the #6 cylinder - the head gasket was blown and there's a water jacket right next to the tear. Case closed.

I replaced both front hub assemblies. Cost for two: $520. Easy to replace.
If you have a 2000 Ranger, make sure you check the build-date, as they changed...

There isn't any condensation under the oil cap and the dipstick keeps coming up clean as well. I plan on tearing into it next week and will start a new thread w/ pics when I do.
