They do make specific adapters so that you don't have to cut the ends. Of course that part is past us :-) ... however, it should help to take a look at those adapters and determine pos and neg. Here...

Vertical works fine for this amp. I of course do not fold the seat up all the way while the amp is in use :), to ensure it has plenty of air flow. Even after a very brutal hour long demo in 85F...

Uh-oh, that's a very loaded question, lol. I honestly avoided totaling the time I worked on it as I was going along, so my estimates of time might be off. The main reason I didn't total up the time...
